Eicon Completes 4th License Study for Iraqi Government

The Iraqi Prime Minister announced the completion of Eicon’s consultancy work, to be presented to the Iraqi cabinet for approval. Following a tender process, ITPC (Informatics & Telecom Public Company), a Ministry of Communications entity, signed a contract with Eicon to provide consultancy support in “establishing a joint-stock national telecommunications company for ICT services via the mobile phone network”. The project, signed on 23 March 2023, was successfully completed within the 4-month timeline, concluding on 29 July 2023

The consultancy contract involved a range of tasks, with a specific focus on:

1. Recommendations for the incorporation of a joint-stock company

2. Options for public-private partnership

3. Telecom market review and growth prospects

4. Design, specifications, and technology options for the network

5. Spectrum review and recommendations for the national license

6. Economic and financial business case, along with investment scenarios

7. Investor teaser document and introduction to operators
